Product and Technology Portfolio
- Engineering resins
Lexan* PC resins
The world’s premier engineering thermoplastic, discovered by Dr. Dan Fox in 1958, Lexan* resins deliver an unmatched combination of high-performance features, including impact resistance, outstanding dimensional stability, prolonged weather resistance, and crystal clarity.
Ultem* PEI resins
In addition to their excellent strength and stiffness, Ultem* PEI resins offer aerospace and transportation applications some of the most outstanding resistance to high heat and chemicals that the plastics industry can offer. The inherent flame retardance of these resins eliminates the need for environmentally harmful halogens.
Extem* TPI resins
Extem* resins are unlike any other in their unique ability to bridge the gap between extreme part performance and improved processability. Depending on the grade, Extem resins can deliver powerful resistance to the most extreme heat and chemicals, and provide superb strength and stiffness or robust dimensional stability.
Valox iQ* resins & Xenoy iQ* copolymers
Valox* PBT resins and Xenoy* PC/PBT copolymers are providing a long-awaited answer to problems facing the environment. Innovative Plastics has introduced special iQ resin grades for each product platform derived from 85 percent post-consumer plastic through a novel technology that upcycles solid waste.
Noryl* resins
The Noryl* family of modified PPE resins offers an unmatched combination of heat resistance, electrical properties, hydrolytic stability, dimensional stability, and good processibility. Noryl GTX blends offer enhanced chemical resistance, stiffness, impact resistance, and heat performance required for on-line painting. Flexible Noryl wire coating delivers PVC’s flexibility, easy processing, and fire retardance, without the use of halogenated compounds or other environmentally unfriendly additives.
Geloy* ASA resins
The most weatherable polymer in the company’s portfolio, Geloy* resins offer exceptional durability in outdoor environments. They retain their color and mechanical properties under prolonged exposure to sunlight, moisture, and heat. Geloy resins are adaptable to almost any plastics processing method.
Cycoloy* PC/ABS resins
Cycoloy* PC/ABS blends combine the excellent processability of ABS with the superior mechanical properties of polycarbonate. These unique materials have set an industry standard for excellent impact toughness at low temperatures, good heat resistance, and outstanding dimensional and color stability.
Cycolac* ABS resins
This versatile family of thermoplastics includes over 100 grades that all provide impressive mechanical, thermal, and processing performance. Additional properties include a high gloss finish, good electrical properties, and excellent paintability and platability.
Xylex* resins
Xylex* resins are a transparent blend of PC and an amorphous polyester. As a result, these resins retain PC’s resistance to chemicals and impact, but process at lower temperatures than straight PC.
- LNP* Specialty Compounds
LNP* specialty compounds include the LNP Colorcomp*, Faradex*, Lubricomp*, Lubriloy*, Stat-Kon*, Stat-Loy*, Starflam*, Thermocomp*, and Verton* product lines. These materials are custom-formulated to help address three key performance areas:
Wear: LNP Lubricomp and LNP Lubriloy wear-resistant compounds can help eliminate the need for external lubricants in demanding wear applications.
Conductivity: Through the use of electrically conductive fillers, LNP Stat-Kon and Stat-Loy compounds provide economical and reliable solutions to the problems of electrostatic discharge. The expanding line of Faradex compounds also provides EMI shielding capabilities in telecommunications, infrastructure and electronics applications.
Structural: LNP Verton structural composites offer tough, lightweight alternatives to metal in automotive, industrial, and recreational applications. Similarly, LNP Thermocomp reinforced compounds offer enhanced mechanical and thermal properties with exceptional resistance to high temperature, creep, fatigue, and impact.
- SABIC® STAMAX* LGFPP (Long Glass Fiber-filled Polypropylene) Composites
SABIC® STAMAX LGFPP composites are made by combining a PP base resin with long glass fibers. They offer a great balance of properties such as 10 to 25 percent lower density than traditional materials for lighter weight parts and better surface finish than short glass fiber products enabling molded-in-color and processability, as well as high flow for thin-wall parts.
- Exatec* Glazing Systems
Exatec advanced Lexan polycarbonate glazing technologies and patented polycarbonate coating systems for the automotive market ensure market-leading weathering, durability and glass-like abrasion performance. Exatec glazing systems offer automakers the potential to develop sunroofs and backlights that weigh up to 50 percent less than comparably sized glass windows. The Exatec 900 technology was also honored with a Frost & Sullivan Technology Award.
- Specialty Film & Sheet
From innovative glazing and building & construction to trendsetting electronic components and transportation, the Specialty Film & Sheet business is serving a variety of industries with a broad portfolio of advanced thermoplastic sheet and film materials in a range of structures, coatings, colors, dimensions and gauges. It also offers a broad range of high-performance optical films designed to meet demanding requirements in the liquid crystal display (LCD) back lighting industry. Most notable is Illuminex* diffuser film, based on Lexan resin, which offers superior scratch resistance and improved environmental performance.
- Polymershapes
Polymershapes stocks, converts, and sells plastic shape products (sheet, rod, tube and film) manufactured by over 1,000 suppliers.
