We continue today to pioneer state-of-the-art materials and process technologies for this market. Resins from our Ultem* and Valox* lines are both melt processable and each product family offers a selection of grades that provide a range of processing and end-performance properties.
Valox resins
Valox resins are excellent candidates for virtually all fiber-processing methods with little or no modification of conventional equipment. These modified PBTs come in a broad range of viscosities, but all provide high purity and good melt strength from fine filament yarns to non-wovens. In addition, Valox resins exhibit a wider processing window
compared to polyolefins or conventional PBTs. Plus, they may offer comparatively lower processing and dyeing temperatures compared to PETs, enabling the potential for energy savings during manufacture.
Ultem resin
Through its expertise in materials engineering and close collaboration with converters, SABIC Innovative Plastics innovated a way to adapt Ultem resin’s amorphous structure to textile manufacturing processes, and make its outstanding collection of performance properties available in monofilaments, multifilaments, yarns and staple fibers.
